Conferences in Guam January 2012

Heading from Saipan to Guam at 6:30 pm.  It was an adventure for us to go with the missionaries to conference.  We had no idea how truly helpful it would be for our missionary work to meet with all the other Senior couples we would meet there.  In the meantime, we enjoyed being with our own special young missionaries, Elders Roko, Allred, Cook, Butler, Delphin, and Sisters Ik and Vano.  This is on Jan 12th.

From the Marriott Hotel where we stayed on the Beach in Guam.  We saw a rainbow!

My Birthday

Sister Bernie Fejeren showing me how to make a wmaremare.

Here I am wearing the wmaremare and the lei that she made for me for my birthday.  The picture shows how pretty they were, but the fragrance cannot be captured here, it was heavenly!

The Church on my birthday.  It was pretty for me!
Here we are near the beach on my birthday with all my flowers on.  Because I am probably one of the oldest women on the island, we need to acknowledge this great occasion!
President Gibbons told us before we left for Micronesia, that the average age on Saipan was about 24, he is right.

Baptism

A long awaited baptism of Brother Fejeren, with his wife Bernie and Matt Smith

Tori Cepada who will soon be baptized was at the Baptism.  Posing with Sister Jones and ward member Christina Carulla.

Us with new member Brother Fejeren and Sister's Vano and Ika.

The R.S. room where the baptism took place was packed,  the largest attendance we've seen at a baptism here.  So many people love the family and were happy that this long awaited event took place.  Our Bishop had to gently remind the attending congregation, that we don't applaud at Baptisms, but people were just overjoyed.  It was really very touching to everyone there.  Brother and Sister Ferjeren have 3 children in Provo attending school.  It was after midnight there when this baptism took place, but through the miracle of Skype, they were able to watch it and the oldest son gave the baptism talk which we watched on the TV.  And the end of his talk no one clapped, but there were few dry eyes.
